The College of Informatics is one of the colleges in the University of Gondar which is established in June, 2016. The college was formed from four departments which are Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science and Information System. In addition to the undergraduate program the faculty, is running Master of Science program in computer science, Information technology, Information systems and Information science in regular program and computer science and Information technology in extension.
The vision of College of Informatics is to be one of nationally recognized center for teaching, research, and consultancy services in the field of Computing Sciences and applications. The mission of the faculty is to train and produce highly qualified graduates in the field of computing and related fields. The college has developed its infrastructure with 20 computer laboratories each containing 40 computers for those four departments. The College have 145 active academic staffs with the different academic position and 25 laboratory assistance.
